CROCLIST: Crocodylus niloticus suchus

Hi all,

can anyone tell me if Crocodylus suchus been recognised as a valid separate species of the Nile Croc complex? 
 or is it even recognised as a subspecies?

I have seen it being used alot lately in proposals for conservation studies/reintroductions in Central/Western Africa.
