CROCLIST: tourist advice for Everglades sought

Hi Croclisters,

my partner and I are going to Tampa, FL, next months. Whilst she has  
some zoo business down there, we would also like to take the  
opportunity to go gator watching in the Everglades.

Having never been there before, I would apppreciate some hints as to  
where to go for some quiet days in the bush. We thought about renting  
a canoe or rowing boat and staying in some quiet B&B if such a thing  
exists.

Any traveller's or gator watcher's advice would be welcome and much  
appreciated!
