Message-ID: Greetings All, Always the first crocodile of the season to lay eggs, our female morelet's crocodile showed no signs of becoming gravid this year. However, just two days prior to laying her eggs she constructed a nest and deposited 44 eggs on June 9th. Of these eggs 38 have banded. Has anyone experienced a female crocodile rapidly building a nest within 48 hours of egg deposition? Always a joy to have baby crocodiles hatch out! Our moreletii female here laid eggs a week ago, and it took her just about 2 days to reshape her huge mound nest, which she uses every year. Even once the 25 (23 fertile) eggs were removed, the same night she built it up again. Seems like a similar circumstance!
